Racing at the Monaco GP this weekend!
The first Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup race of the season at Barcelona could have been so much better! I made a mistake in qualifying, as I had a huge lock up which put me 13th on the grid. The car was really good, so to make an error at the most crucial time was really frustrating.
The car was great on race day and I was careful to look after my tyres in the early laps to ensure I had good balance throughout the race. I battled hard and finished 9th. I’m really excited to get in the car again at Monaco this weekend to continue to make progress with my new team, Momo Megatron Lechner Racing.
Of course Monaco is a very special place for a race. It’s hard to describe the feeling of racing through the streets with extremely tight turns, getting so close to the barriers, you just about touch them. There’s so much excitement, atmosphere and colour, every part of the circuit is world famous, so it’s a dream to race at the Monaco Grand Prix!
Qualifying means absolutely everything , especially at Monaco, as it’s so hard to overtake. I need to be millimetre perfect in the 30 minute qualifying session on Friday to get a decent slot on the grid.
The schedule this weekend is (UK timings):
Thursday 24th May: 16:15 – 17:00 Practice Session
Friday 25th May: 09:00 – 09:30 Qualifying Session
