The season starts at Donington this weekend!
The first two rounds of the season are here at last as we race at Donington Park this weekend 1/2 August.
Donington is a fast, flowing circuit with a good mixture of corners. I’ve had some success here in the past and I’m looking forward to getting back on track with the awesome Team Parker Racing. Everyone in the team is just so keen to start racing, it’s been a long wait since our last race in October 2019 at Brands Hatch.
The schedule this weekend is:
Saturday 1st August
13:30 – 14:00 Qualifying
Sunday 2nd August
11:50 Race 1 (23 laps)
16:30 Race 2 (23 laps) (Partially reversed grid)
We received disappointing news last night that no spectators will be allowed to attend the race weekend. This is sad, as the organisers had done everything possible to meet all Covid-19 rules and everyone is so disappointed not to have spectators at the circuit. I feel very sorry for race fans who had booked tickets and are now unable to attend. I hope this changes soon.
There’s a lot of motorsport to watch on TV though, with the British GP at Silverstone, and full coverage of the BTCC at Donington on ITV4HD starts at 10:35am on Sunday and runs right through to 6:15pm. The Porsche races will of course feature in the schedule.
Thanks for all your messages of support, and a special thank you to partners Calteq, Dextra, Penguin London, Whittlebury Park and to the guys and girls at Team Parker for all their hard work. Hope to have some great results to celebrate on Sunday!
Whatever you’re doing this weekend I hope you have fun!
