Rockingham Motor Speedway 11/12 September Josh posted the fastest lap times in testing on Thursday and Friday, and qualified on the front row in P2 for the first race and P5 in the second session on Saturday. On Sunday the weather was fine and Josh welcomed 20 sponsors and guests to Rockingham for race day. In race one he made a poor start and finished 5th. The safety car was deployed after 2/3rds race distance and stayed out to the end of the race, so Josh was frustrated not to be able to make up places. Between races, after going through the data from race 1, Josh's race engineer Ben and mechanic Hannah worked on the car and made a few vital changes to the set-up. Meanwhile, Josh spoke to the guests and answered their questions in the team garage and the guests could get a close look at the car and the work involved for a race team. In race 2, starting 5th, Josh had a great start and was quickly up to third. The Fortec team were cheering on the pit wall as the three Fortec cars crossed the line to start the second lap in positions 1- 2 - 3. On lap 3 Josh managed to get close enough to his team mate Mitchell Hale on the straight to make a decisive move on the inside of the first hairpin to claim 2nd place. He then put in a series of quick laps in pursuit of his other team mate Joseph Reilly who had started on pole and had a considerable lead, but Joseph's lap times were consistently good and Josh couldn't catch him. The race finished in that order, with Joseph on the top step of the podium and Josh in 2nd. James Theodore took 3rd place. Fortec celebrated a great 1-2 finish for the team, and Josh set the fastest lap of the race. Josh's guests enjoyed an action packed day and exciting racing, showing loud and enthusiastic support as he stepped onto the podium! The final two rounds of the series are at Thruxton on the 17th October.
