Late entry to Porsche Carrera Cup GB for 2019!

There have been a few changes to plans for 2019 recently so an update is overdue!

I was on my way to Donington at the end of April to work as a race driver coach in Porsche Carrera Cup GB for Team Parker Racing, when I received a call from Team Principal Stuart Parker asking if I’d race! “Erm”…my hesitation measured in milliseconds!

A new race car needed to be found and I wasn’t able to take part in practice as the car hadn’t arrived. We went straight into qualifying on Saturday on a wet track and managed to get pole! I finished 3rd in the first race, then after overnight changes to the car we won the second race!

Wow, what an amazing effort from the Team Parker Racing guys. The team also won Team of the Weekend, and I won Driver of the Weekend. Huge effort by everyone, and it was so good for the team to enjoy the success after such hard work.

After Donington we had some time to talk to sponsor partners about the rest of the season and I’m very happy to have TAG Autosport9 Group and Calteqjoining us on the grid this year. The new car livery has just taken to the track for practice today at Croft Circuit and a first photo is above. Thank you to everyone for all your continued support, including Whittlebury HallCordis andPenguin London.

Of course we missed the first two races at Brands Hatch, so it’s going to be difficult to catch up with championship points, but we’ll just take each race as it comes and see where we end up at the end of the season. It’s just fantastic to be racing.

The remaining races of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship are:

Rounds 5 & 6 – 15/16 June – Croft Circuit – British Touring Car Championship (BTCC)
Rounds 7 & 8  – 29/30 June – Oulton Park – BTCC

Rounds 11 & 12 – 31 Aug/1 Sep – Silverstone GP Circuit – World Endurance Championship
Rounds 13/14 – 28/29 September – Silverstone National Circuit – BTCC
Rounds 15/16 – 12/13 October – Brands Hatch GP Circuit – BTCC

This weekend’s timetable is:

15:45 Qualifying
