Home race at Silverstone!

To say it’s been a busy few weeks is an understatement and now we go to race at the British Grand Prix!

I was honoured to be asked to drive for Porsche at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and drove some amazing historic and new cars up the hill, including the famous 935/78 Martini liveried “Moby Dick” and the iconic 917/30 CAN AM Porsche museum car which raced with 1500BHP in 1973! I was really emotional after driving it, it was mind-blowing. So fast and so much grip. What an amazing honour.

Last weekend we raced at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. I qualified in P4 and finished the race in P6. I was of course disappointed not to be able to move forward as I felt that a podium finish was possible, but it turned out to be a hard race, setting my best lap time on lap 13, whereas ideally I needed the car to be balanced much earlier in the race. It’s very positive that we are learning all the time and making great progress.

So, now we have back to back races and we go to Silverstone for my home race. I’m so excited. It’s a great feeling to race at your home Grand Prix. Last year I finished P4, narrowly missing out on the podium. I really hope I can improve on that result this year.

The schedule this weekend is :

Friday 14th July
16:55 Practice

Saturday 15th July
08:45 Qualifying

Sunday 16th July
10:30 Race

The race will be shown live on TV:

Sky Sports F1 10:30
Eurosport 2 10:15

There is also Live Streaming on the official PORSCHE website and on racecam.de. I have the camera on my car this weekend so you’ll have on-board footage.

I hope to see many of you at Silverstone. I’m so happy that guests from my sponsors are going to be there. Thank you to 9 Group, eve, Workflow, LA Micro, Penguin London and Whittlebury Hall for all your support. You can be sure I’ll be giving it everything to put on a good show and get a great result.

Whatever you’re doing this weekend, have fun and if you’re at Silverstone for the Grand Prix I hope you have an awesome time. Give me a wave!
