Final 2 races of the 2018 season at the Mexico GP this weekend

The final two races of the 2018 Porsche Mobil1 Supercup season are coming up at the Mexican Grand Prix this weekend.

As you can see, the 28 Porsche GT3 Cup cars together with tons of equipment were loaded onto a 747-400 at Stuttgart airport and headed off to Mexico City earlier this week. Great photo of my car in Upper Class!

It is a long time since the last race in Monza. I had hoped for a really good result when I was 3rd fastest in the wet, but we were not as quick in the dry for the race. I was in 7th place as I started the final lap when I had a tyre blow-out at 160mph, so I was unable to finish the race. It was disappointing but fortunately I managed to slow the car down and stop without any further damage.

So, on to Mexico for the final two races. Last year I finished in 4th place for the final race and of course I’d love to improve on that with a podium this time. Let’s see what we can do!

The schedule this weekend is (UK timings shown below) (Mexico City +6 hrs):
