Austrian Grand Prix this weekend!
It’s a month since the second round of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season at Monaco. I started and finished 8th in the race and really regretted making a mistake in qualifying where I touched the barrier at the final chicane. Just about everyone touches the barrier at some time over the Monaco weekend but I touched it a little too hard on my best lap which was on target for a front row start. Completely my fault, just pushing too hard!
On the 13/14 June, Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup had a two day official test at Silverstone. It was an opportunity for my sponsor partners to see the race car for the first time this year and to see and hear all the cars on track. There were 90 guests over the two days from 9 Group, eve, Calteq and Whittlebury Hall, enjoying the fantastic views and lunch at the BRDC Clubhouse. Thank you all for your support, it was a successful test and we feel confident in the car for the British GP!
Before then, we race this weekend at the picturesque Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria for round 3. Last year I qualified P4, so I hope I can get a really good qualifying position again this year and get a great result in the race.
July is the busiest month ever. After the Red Bull Ring we have two days testing in Hungary, then we travel immediately to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix next weekend 6-8 July. Two weeks later it’s the German GP at Hockenheim and the week after that it’s the Hungarian GP. Crazy month!
The schedule this weekend is (UK timings):
Friday 29 June: 17:40 Practice
Saturday 30 June: 12:25 Qualifying
Sunday 1 July: 11:15 Race
The race is shown live: 11:10 Sky Sports F1HD
There is also Live Streaming on the official PORSCHE website and on racecam.de.
Here’s hoping for a good result in Austria. Have a great weekend everyone!
